Medway Winter Night Shelter
For the second year running, Richard Watts Charities have made a £6,000 grant to help fund the running of the Medway Winter Night Shelter. The shelter operates on a rolling basis providing 12 bed spaces every night from January to the end of March – guests sleep at a different church venue each night. Started in November 2015, the Medway Winter Night Shelter project is an alliance of local churches and other organisations concerned about the number of people living on our streets or in vulnerable housing. The partners include Medway Council, Strood Community Project, Churches Together in Medway, Open House and Emmaus Medway and in 2017 it also relied on the support of over 170 volunteers.
