Watts Opening 8th & 9th September​
As part of the national Heritage Open Days event celebrating England's heritage and culture Watts Almshouses will open to the public on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 10am-4pm. Visitors can tour the grounds with a guide and view an almshouse; one of the original almshouses will be open where possible. You can also visit the exhibition in the Board Room and discuss the services provided by Watts Charities. Refreshments and home-made cakes will be on sale.

Unprecedented times - unprecedented number of awards in short space of time
This month Trustees made 13 awards worth a total of £11,670 to 8 schools and 5 organisations serving residents in ME1 and ME2. For schools, the sums awarded ranged from £160 to £1,200 for craft materials, books, a sensory garden and lap tops for home learning. The awards to organisations included £5,000 to the Friends of the Wisdom Hospice where it costs £1,000 per week to employ a specialist palliative care nurse (40 hour shift), £1,600 to AgeUK Medway for additional equipment to enable them to provide the hugely increased number of meals for the elderly, £1,000 to Medway Foodbank and £1,000 to the Open House Project as well as £320 to Carers First to support young carers in the area.
