News - July 2019
St Francis Church Strood
St Francis Church makes its facilities available as a safe place in the community to connect with others and has launched in September 2018 the Place of Welcome – a weekly (free) café. Trustees at Richard Watts Charities have pledged £5,000 towards the improvement of some of the church's kitchen facilities.
Helping Children
Without Walls is the fund raising and grant issuing body of the Parish of St Peter with St Margaret in Rochester. We support their work because among other things, they enable children and families in areas of relative deprivation to benefit from new experiences which they would otherwise be unable to afford. We receive reports from the children and families letting us know how much they enjoyed themselves at the seaside or zoo or other exciting destinations. It is a pleasure to help them. We have awarded them £1,000 towards this year's cost of trips.
Action for Borstal Community Group also organise summer outings for children from within the community. £554 has been awarded to support this work.
St Peter's Toddlers' Group have received sensory building blocks to add to their play equipment.
