Watts Opening 8th & 9th September​
As part of the national Heritage Open Days event celebrating England's heritage and culture Watts Almshouses will open to the public on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th September 10am-4pm. Visitors can tour the grounds with a guide and view an almshouse; one of the original almshouses will be open where possible. You can also visit the exhibition in the Board Room and discuss the services provided by Watts Charities. Refreshments and home-made cakes will be on sale.

Birthing From Within Kent
Trustees made a grant of £250 to Birthing within Kent for materials. As a community, Birthing From Within Kent was 3 years old in Spring 2017. They've supported over 50 families each year and over 100 families in total. More than 30 babies have been born to mums who have received their antenatal support. Their service is affordable (thanks to local grants) and supports family emotional wellbeing. They seek to support the family unit through this significant time of change in groups or 1:1. Rather than trying to be experts who provide answers and fix things, they provide space and time and strategies to help mums discover things for themselves. To find out more, go to:

Heritage Open Days at Watts Almshouses
Tour the grounds of the nineteen traditional almshouses plus some of the more recently built bungalows and flats. Relax in the Common Room with refreshments and home-made cake from 10.00am-4.00pm. An exhibition of documents from the Watts archives will provide a feel of Watts Charities from the past. Open - Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 September 10am-4pm. No booking required.
Access - Steps up at the front to access to Board Room and Common Room. Steep wooden stairs up to Board Room. Wheelchair access to Common Room via rear of site.
